Nomadia isn't in Sainte-Maxime's historic centre. Our address is 252 route du Plan de la Tour, at the northern exit of town, on the road climbing to the Var hinterland. But just 5 minutes by car from the town centre, the port and La Croisette, we're the natural option for locals and holidaymakers who want to escape the bustle and the parking hassle.

Sainte-Maxime town centre has roughly thirty restaurants packed around the port and Place Victor Hugo. Many decent spots, a few excellent ones, but plenty of tourist tables with sea views and matching prices. We offer an alternative: homemade cooking, a calm terrace, free parking, fair prices.

How to reach Nomadia from the town centre

By car (the easiest). From Place Victor Hugo, the port or La Croisette, take the D25 (route du Plan de la Tour) heading north. The restaurant is on the right after about 2.5 km, 5 to 7 minutes depending on traffic. Free parking is right out front. No meters, no zoning, no time limit.

By bus. The Var N°01 line stops nearby. Around 12 to 15 minutes from the centre. Handy if you want a drink or cocktail at the Nomadia bar without worrying about driving back. Check evening return schedules, buses stop early.

By taxi. Around €12-15 from Place Victor Hugo, €8-10 from the port. Many holidaymakers in hotels take a cab, especially after a dinner with wine.

On foot or by bike. 35-45 minutes on foot via the D25 from the port, doable but not great in summer (no continuous sidewalk). By bike, 12-15 minutes via the same route, with a slight uphill.

Ideal

The best period. The 5-minute drive from the centre stays smooth, the terrace is pleasant without crushing heat, and market produce peaks: asparagus, artichokes, figs, rock mullet. Centre restaurants start opening but aren't packed yet. Booking useful on weekends only.

July - August

Book early

Peak season. The centre is packed: finding parking takes 20 minutes, port terraces fill up by 8pm. Coming to Nomadia for dinner is often faster than circling downtown. Book 48h ahead for evenings, especially Tuesdays (darts night) and Saturdays.

November - March

Cosy

Off-season. Many centre restaurants close from October to March. Nomadia stays open year-round (except Sunday and Monday evenings). It's the locals' favourite period: calm vibes, no wait, comforting winter dishes. The drive from the centre is even quicker without summer traffic.

Yes. Many restaurants in the town centre of Sainte-Maxime close between October and March. Nomadia stays open all year, Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch. In winter, the menu leans on heartier seasonal dishes (souris d'agneau confite, gratins, slow-simmered dishes) and the mood is calmer, without the July queue.
Can you get here easily from La Nartelle beach?
Absolutely. La Nartelle beach is about 3 km from Nomadia, that is 8 to 10 minutes by car via the route de la Nartelle then the D25. Quite a few of our lunchtime guests spend the morning on the beach and head up for a cool lunch on the terrace rather than cramming into a packed beach shack. The free parking saves you driving back down into the centre to find a space. Swimmers from La Madrague and Les Éléphants make the same trip.
Do you serve fresh fish or seafood?
We serve a fresh poisson du jour (€22) depending on the market delivery: sea bass, sea bream or red mullet, cooked à la plancha with Var vegetables and a Provence-herb dressing. That said, we aren't a seafood restaurant in the strict sense, no shellfish platter and no bouillabaisse. For seafood platters in Sainte-Maxime, the seafront addresses such as La Réserve in the town centre are a better fit. At Nomadia, fish is a daily special on the menu, not an exclusive specialty.
